Traditional cells are made with silicon, which is brittle, and are covered with glass, which can be damaged by hail. Sunflare modules start with a flexible, stainless steel substrate with a layer of semiconductors less than one micrometer thick and then they are covered with a polymer top sheet.

Cloudy days, fog, and high humidity, no problem

Whenever you talk about solar, you need to consider shading. The panels might be shaded by trees, debris and neighboring buildings that can affect the amount of power the panel produces. Sunflare modules are better than traditional silicon panels in partial shade. Each cell has a bypass diode--that means only the shaded cell turns off. Other panels have one bypass diode per string, so that if one cell in that string is shaded, the whole string goes out. Depending where the shade is hitting, the whole panel could be knocked out.
